What is Careers Online? 

Careers Online is IABC Calgary's job information service which is provided exclusively for communications professionals who are members of IABC Calgary.  The job postings are available only through the chapter web site and are updated every Friday afternoon.  Calgary chapter members can check out the job listings by going into MemberNet and typing in their IABC membership number.  The chapter posts career openings from employers in Calgary and from cities across Canada.  

Who can access Careers Online? 

Anyone can access the general information sections of the IABC Calgary chapter web site, including membership and event information, event  RSVPs, and e-mail addresses for all chapter board members.  All Calgary chapter IABC members can access the secured part of Careers Online by typing in their first name and membership ID number.

I've just joined IABC/Calgary. How do I get access to Careers Online?

To access Careers Online, all you need to know is your IABC membership ID number.  You will be prompted for your first name and member ID when you go into the MemberNet section of the web site, where Careers Online is located. 

Where do I find my IABC membership number? 

The easiest way to find your membership number is on the mailing label of any of your issues of Communications World.  you should also have received a membership card when you renewed your membership most recently.  If you still can not find your number, contact IABC head office in San Francisco at 1-800-776-4222. 

I'm thinking of relocating to Calgary. How do I get access  Careers Online? 

Members of other IABC chapters can purchase temporary access to the job postings. Contact careers@iabccalgary.com for more information.

How do I post a job on Careers Online? 

To post an ad on Careers Online, just fill out the Job Posting  reservation form.

Job postings must be submitted by Thursday at 5:00 to be included in the following week’s listings. For more information, send an email to jobs@iabccalgary.com.

What's the cost of advertising on Careers Online? 

We charge just $100 for a two-week listing for employers with at least one IABC member within their company. Non-member companies pay just $150. Compared to running a newspaper ad, it's a real bargain! And you can avoid all those inappropriate newspaper ad responses. With Careers Online you'll be targeting more than 500 communication practitioners and students in the Calgary area. 

New listings are posted every Friday afternoon. 

What sort of response will I get? 

Because your message is targeted, it will reach more than 500 qualified professional communicators, who have a wealth of expertise in every communications arena from writing and editing to web site development and strategic planning. Our statistics show you'll receive anywhere from 12 to 40 excellent responses to any given ad. 

Do IABC/Calgary members use Careers Online?

You bet! More than 80% of members recently surveyed said it's one of the main perks of belonging to the chapter and/or joining the chapter.  

When will I be billed? 

Careers Online registration allows you to pay online via credit card. A receipt will be e-mailed shortly after registering your job posting.
